For over half a century, Tulare Regional Medical Center has provided excellent health care for the residents and visitors of this area. The skills of our physicians along with new and better technology are certainly major components. Yet the underlying force has been the commitment and motivation to heal and to offer the best quality of life possible in our community.
Maintaining this commitment and ensuring the continuance of this high quality of health care is the purpose of the TULARE REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER FOUNDATION.
The Foundation, founded in 1987, is a separate non-profit corporation from the hospital with its own board of directors and bylaws. The Foundation has raised over $2 million dollars for patient care equipment and services.
The Foundation offers a unique opportunity to involve members of the community in the health care delivery system. The trustees and members of the Foundation volunteer their time and energy to the planning, organization and management of fund-raising programs.
The Foundation is a charitable organization with the basic mission of informing the citizens of our area about the services of Tulare Regional Medical Center. Its mission is to also work with the community to develop new hospital programs and facilities, and to raise funds through voluntary contributions for the expansion and operation of those services and facilities.
The beautiful “Sheltering Oak Donor Tree” wall sculpture in the main lobby and the “Sharing Train” wall sculpture in the Pediatric Unit provide a way to publicly thank and recognize donors for their generous gifts to the Foundation. Those who have chosen to underwrite a special area or room receive additional recognition on plaque at the room site.

Our volunteers donate over 18,000 hours of service each year, and usually work one three-hour shift a week . . . or more, if desired. Shifts are scheduled beginning at 8 a.m. with evenings and weekend hours also available. No experience is necessary - just enthusiasm and commitment.
Our volunteers make a significant contribution to the hospital by faithfully giving their time and talent to patients, families, the hospital staff and visitors.
