The most important are the long duration rental LLD

Rental of vehicles, which are the central actors in the heart of the world of business in France vehicles, are grouped in three professional organizations corresponding to their specialities. The most important are the long duration rental (LLD). The national Union of the rental of vehicles long-term (SNLVLD) created in 1978 and includes these rental companies, be they independent or builders captive. The third family, rental short term (LCD), is grouped in the domestic rental of the national Council of professions de l'Automobile (CNPA), chaired by André Gallin, Hertz France.

These three organizations provide their members with information and services. Commissions are working to inform the members in various fields: social, taxation, insurance, new information and communication technologies... They organize trainings including through Internet (e-learning), proposed on their website of the interactive tools. "Our three organizations are more complementary than competitive," said Yvon Pouhaër.

9.6 billion of turnover

Indeed their meeting is the Federation of rental of vehicles (FNLV), which represents a heavy weight of 345 enterprises, 1.8 million vehicles and turnover 9.6 billion. This national sectoral superfédération is a lobbying type: "If a Minister wishes to implement a measure for all stakeholders in the rental market, instead of doing the tour of professional organizations, it is for the FNLV", said a participant.

The FNLV has its counterpart of lobbying at the European level with Leaseurope to which it adheres. This organisation brings together at Brussels 47 national associations of 34 countries, with 93 of the market of the European leasing, all sectors. "In this galaxy, division"automotive"represents more than 17 million vehicles and carries out a third of the EU registrations," observes Vincent Rupied, chairman of the automobile branch of Leaseurope and the daily, Director of the "corporate relations" with Arval.

The panorama of these professional organization can be supplemented by various centres of expertise and "think tanks", associations, networks of expertise. Thus, with managers ("fleet managers") in the Agora of the leaders of fleet companies automobiles (Arfa) created in 2007, has already more than 70 officials managing parks more than 250 vehicles, either in total more than 400,000 vehicles.

Finally, there are valuable organizations of Eve as the Observatory of the company vehicle (OVE) created in 2003 by BNP Paribas. This platform of experts produced studies in four areas: vehicle management, sustainable development and environment, new technologies and prevention of road risks. It organizes meetings, confronts the opinions, tests that shed light on certain practices and suggest optimizations, also offers online tools. OVE is a component of the international Observatory Corporate Vehicle Observatory (CVO), which covers 11 countries of Europe to the India. "We wanted to compare our markets to those of an emerging country in advanced car", says Philippe Brendel, Director of the OVE.
