The Jets are 1 in yards and points allowed

The Kings felt the officiating was unfair and due to Shaq's complaining of how previous games in the series were officiated. "I feel sorry for our team, because they did everything they could to win the game,'' Sacramento coach Rick Adelman said "It's a shame, a real shame .. Our big guys get 20 fouls, and Shaq gets four You tell me. Obviously, they got the game called the way they wanted to get it called. In the game, Shaq dominated as he had 41 points, 17 rebounds, and 2 blocks while shooting 14-25 from the field and 13-17 from the free throw line, while Kobe 31 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists on 10-20 shooting. Disgraced official Tim Donaghy said the referees wanted the series to go seven games so they favored the Lakers. Runner Up2007 Western Conference Semifinals between Spurs and Suns (Amare Stoudemire and Boris Diaw suspended for leaving bench).

The game was between arguably the two best teams in the East at the time - the Indiana Pacers and the Detroit Pistons, the defending champs, in the middle of November, 2004. However, what looked like a great road win for the Pacers turned into arguably the ugliest moment in the NBA's history as members of each team started fighting with each other and then several members of the Pacers were involved with altercations with fans in the stands and on the court. The game was ended with 45.9 seconds remaining and the victory was awarded to the Pacers in a 97-82 final. "It's the ugliest thing I've seen as a coach or player," said Pistons coach Larry Brown, who was in the middle of the confrontation, trying to break it up.

"I'm sorry the game had to end this way." "The NBA is withholding comment until it can review the incident," NBA spokesman Tim Frank said. The results of this brawl were the Artest was suspended for the rest of the season (73 games), including the playoffs, Stephen Jackson was suspended for 30 games, Jermaine O'Neal for 15 games, Ben Wallace for 6 games, Anthony Johnson for 5 games, and Reggie Miller, Chauncey Billups, Elden Campbell and Derrick Coleman one game each for leaving the bench during an on-court altercation. Overall, the sad and somewhat forgotten part of this incident was the Pacers had a legitimate chance of winning the championship that season, but it all ended when their top three players all missed a significant part of the season, especially their second best player in Artest, who missed the rest of the season Runner UpTim Donaghy's Allegations. Has the New York Sack Exchange been replaced with the new Monsters of the MeadowlandsGiven the fact the New York Jets statistically have the most dominant defense since the 1985 edition of the Chicago Bears more commonly referred to as the Monsters of the Midway, is the connection just coincidental or fate given Head Coach Rex Ryan's dad is former Bear defensive coordinator Buddy Ryan, the architect of that 15-1 squad that shutout the New York Giants (21-0), Los Angeles Rams (24-0) in the playoffs and pasted the Raymond Berry led New England Patriots 46-10While the Meadowlands sports complex is a long way from Chicago's South Side, this defense is playing there best football of the season when it matters in December, where the Jets are now 3-0!The numbers are getting more and more impressive for the Ryan's Express, which is allowing just 104 yards on ground and 160 through the air.The Jets are 1 in yards and points allowed. The last time that occured was in 1985 when the other Ryan named Buddy was guiding the "46" to a Super Bowl Championship!More impressive is the third down play where the Jets have now stopped opponents 24 times in a row and allowed just five 3rd down conversions in the last 41 attempts. Now the Jets haven't exactly played the Colts & Saints, but this defense is playing December football in a place built for smash mouth and a cloud of dust known as Giants Stadium where it always seems dark, cold and dreary for any opponent after Thanksgiving!Ryan has moved the Jets from 18th in yards allowed to 1 and 16th in points allowed to 1 this season without the services of Kris Jenkins for most of the year and not a very reliable pass rush although the sacks have increased in the second half.Granted, the Jets have beaten just one team (New England) that's over .500 all season long and they've feasted on bad teams the past three weeks. But the confidence is back in a defense that lost it's way during that seven-game stretch where they went just 1-6 with heartbreaking losses to Miami, Buffalo and Jacksonville. On third down, the Jets are stopping the opposition 68 of the time (59/179). The secondary has been shut down perfect and Darrelle Revis is slowly becoming the first defensive back to lead this defense since the days of James Hasty!Whatever may happen on Sunday and whomever starts, the Falcons could be in a for a long afternoon with this defense playing its best football of the 2009 season.Look for Ryan to let his defense and running game do the talking as Jet management tries to figure out a very fragile and delicate situation at quarterback with a potential playoff berth hanging in the balance. .

A battle of two six-and-sixes in the Insight Bowl will take place this place New Year's Eve in Tempe, Arizona.Naturally, the Cyclones will look for success on the ground against a very good trio of Gopher linebackers; including a healthy Lee Campbell (9.3 tackles per game).Thhe real key though will be the Iowa State defense.Iowa State's defense, led by linebacker Jesse Smith, and the return of cornerback Ter'ran Benton, just needs to be efficient and avoid giving the Gophers any extra chances to get jump-started.Also, look out for young signal-caller MarQueis Gray to get a chance. If junior Adam Weber continues to struggle for the Gophers, perhaps the super-athletic Gray will be able to ignite the offense.I'll take Iowa State, 24-20, in the type of grind-it-out game that Rhoads, Robinson, and quarterback Austen Arnaud love.. The Texas A&M Aggies and the Georgia Bulldogs will knock heads in the Advocare V100 Indepence Bowl in Shreveport on December 28th, 2009.This should be one of the more entertaining games of the early bowl season, but it's hard to say which kind of game fans will get. This should be the tale of two inconsistent teams, and is about as unpredictable a game as remains in this college football season.Jerrod Johnson finished his regular season with two very good performances. Will that carry over into this contest, or will we see the Johnson that threw three picks and finished with -40 yards rushing against Kansas StateA.J. Green is one of America's favorite and most talented receivers, but has been absent for three of the past four games. Will Green be ready to give Joe Cox the prime target he needs on the big stageI'm not sure why, really, but I have a feeling that Georgia will be better-prepared for this game.I'm not sure why, but in a game like this, fans can do little more than guess on a feeling. So give me Georgia over Texas A&M, 24-17.. Texas Tech will face off with Michigan State on January 2nd in the Valero Alamo Bowl in San Antonio.I know Texas Tech isn't great, and I don't want to sound mean, but, how did this bowl game happenSophomore quarterback Kirk Cousins spearheads a semi-decent offense and the Spartan defense is average at best.Throw that in with the fact that you're trying to slow down a Mike Leach offense, and I sense a lot of trouble for Michigan State. In fact, I think Michigan State could win the time of possession battle and the turnover battle, and still may not come out on top.Give me a recently-more-consistent Taylor Potts and do-it-all back Baron Batch over Michigan State, 38-24.. In what I think will be one of the best bowl games of the season, the Sooners will try to match up with the surging Stanford Cardinal in the Brut Sun Bowl in El Paso on New Year's Eve.A talented Stanford offense meets an talented Oklahoma defense.A sporadic Sooner offense will try to get going early against a similarly unpredictable Cardinal defense. It is the second of these two equations, I believe, that will have the bigger impact on the game.Stanford will score some points, but Oklahoma will make some stops, too.It will be up to Landry Jones and company to keep the Sooners in a position to win.Unfortunately, I don't like Jones' chances.I don't think he'll be at his best on the big stage as a freshman, and Gerald McCoy, Jeremy Beal, Travis Lewis, and Dominique Franks can't do it all themselves.Sorry, Bob Stoops.I'm planning on another bowl loss for you, 27-21..
